THE ESTRELLA DAMM MEDITERRANEAN LADIES OPEN, DECLARED EVENT OF SPECIAL RELEVANCE FOR ITS IMPORTANT MEDIA AND TOURISTIC IMPACT

The Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open, a competition within the European Women´s Golf Circuit that will take place between 20 and 23 April at the Terramar Golf Club, has been declared an event of special relevance by the Sitges City Council, where it is located The venue of this important tournament, which will bring together the best golfers on the European continent.
This statement, unanimously approved by the abovementioned Barcelonian consistory, responds among other issues to the important media and tourism impact generated by the celebration of this competition, which has made Sitges in the epicenter of European golf for weeks.
This fact is favored by the presence, among others, of half of the European team of the Solheim Cup – a magnificent prelude to this tournament to be held in summer – and the most brilliant Spanish golfers today, led by Carlota Ciganda and Azahara Muñoz.
The competition will be broadcast live on TV3, Gol TV, Canal Sur and Movistar Golf +, while Teledeporte will offer a daily summary of half an hour. Also, the producer of the Ladies European Tour will be responsible for the dissemination of the images in 15 television channels from 82 countries.
In order to favor the presence of public during the four days of competition – from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 April -, the entrance to watch the show of the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open will be free.
Bauhaus joins tournament support
The company Bauhaus has joined the support of the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open as co-sponsor of the event in a decided bet for women´s golf in particular and sport in general.
In addition, the event will count on the collaboration of Montalt Group and Donnay Automoció 2000 – courtesy tickets -, Allianz – official insurer -, Kyocera – printing services – Skeyndor – skin care – Knee – catering services – and Bargosa -plants of the Canary Islands.
Special mention also for the express support of the Sitges City Council, the Diputació de Barcelona and the Consell Català de l’Esport de la Generalitat de Catalunya, institutions that also support the tournament.
About the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open
The Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open is the European women´s professional golf tournament to be held from 20 to 23 April at the Terramar Golf Club in Sitges (Barcelona), where the best golf players from the Old continent. As a prelude, on the 19th, a ProAm will be held, to start the tournament itself on Thursday 20, and conclude with the final on Sunday 23rd, when the Trophy Estrella Damm will be awarded to the winner. The Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open is the first European tournament to be held in Spain in 2017, in addition to the first professional European women´s golf tournament in Catalonia since 2008.
